Afia Sengupta is an inspirational lawyer and journalist who has been fighting for human rights, constitutional rights, and women’s rights for over a decade. She helps people during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Be it a government employee facing an investigation, or a wrongfully convicted member of the vulnerable communities, she is dedicated to working tirelessly for her clients. She understands the importance of getting into the trenches with her clients, and readers and tenaciously fighting for them. The Marquis Who’s Who Publications Board has certified Afia as a subject of biographical record in Who’s Who in America inclusion which is limited to individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement in their respective fields and have made innumerable contributions to society as a whole.
In addition to political journalism, government investigations, and criminal defense work, Afia also fights to secure constitutional and voting rights for the underprivileged and minorities. Afia brings fierce defense for people accused of criminal offenses. She has developed strong relationships with Assitant District Attorneys and court staff to secure favorable dispositions to cases. She advocates for individuals and families victimized by implicit & explicit discriminatory systems, police brutality, and predatory corporations.

She is a journalist and an In-House Counsel. Besides being the founder of Current Affairs Times, Afia worked on the Blackwater trial which was one of the longest criminal jury trials in the US.
Afia is the producer and director of the podcast, The Politically Social. Afia’s work focuses on the relationship between politics and investigative journalism. The Politically Social podcast has garnered a lot of attention and addresses important social issues including MeToo In The Military, Real Estate Fraud in New York, Gun Violence, Slavery, Employment Discrimination, Abortion Rights, Gang Crimes, and Mental Health Issues among others.
2. Ryan Campbell., Esq, Staff Attorney, and Journalist

Ryan is an experienced attorney knowledgeable on trademark, copyright, IT transactions, and immigration law with a decade of experience. Additionally, he has worked in communications, particularly on legal matters, for several organizations, both non-profit and for-profit. Prior to joining the Current Affairs Times, Ryan was a staff attorney at the Council of People’s Organizations where he litigated in immigration courts and represented clients before USCIS officers especially political asylum seekers.
Besides being an attorney at the Current Affairs Times, Ryan is the co-founder of DRM Capitol Group which specializes in immigrant and LGBTQ advocacy. Ryan is also a journalist and writes many Op-Ed articles on topics ranging from immigration law, intellectual property, gun laws, policy, and pending legislation.
Ryan was honored by Public Interest Law Association (PILA) for “Outstanding Advocacy and Unyielding Commitment” to public interest law. He has conducted ‘Know Your Rights training’ for up to 1,000 trainees at a time for Members of Congress at Town Hall Meetings and Community Organizations
As a journalist, Ryan speaks publicly regarding policy and legislation and has achieved broader media exposure by creating and managing multimedia political campaigns. To this date, he volunteers in legal aid clinics.
3. Nathan Rizzuti, Creative Director

Prior to joining the Current Affairs Times as a staff writer and creative director, Nathan has been a freelance journalist, contributing to magazines and publications such as the Cleveland Scene, Cincinnati Beat, Gadget Review, Music Minds, and Yahoo Sports. Nathan also has experience in scriptwriting for both long and short-form video content and has extensive experience as a media strategist and copywriter.
Nathan graduated from The King’s College in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, where he also minored in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
4. Adelola Tinubu, Political Journalist

Adelola is a political journalist at the Current Affairs Times. Besides, she is also a photojournalism supervisor at the US Navy (i.e. USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) ). Prior to joining the Current Affairs Times, Adelola was a Mass Communications specialist at the US Navy for over 8 years.
As a communications specialist aboard Truman, Adelola provided news coverage of Truman’s combat operations to internal and external audiences as a member of the media department’s photojournalism team. Her contributions displayed the positive impact of the Harry S Truman Strike Group in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. She was also a key member of the ship’s Nautical or Otherwise Photographic Interpretation Examination Team. Here, Adelola supported intelligence collection efforts to strengthen ship security during an 8-month combat deployment.
She has released over 200 images and 40 news stories. Adelola applies an empathetic approach and is an exceptional content creator. She has zealously worked for the homeless. As a case manager at Homes for the Homeless, she was a guide. She laid out the roadmap to guide a family during their journey of seeking and accepting suitable housing. She addressed their medical, mental health, and financial needs, and provided referrals to help them address those needs.
Adelola’s goals include helping the homeless search for affordable and hygienic housing in the city of New York and working on the progress of children, including their educational growth. Adelola has traveled the world and continues to believe that travel gives us an “immediate sense of things we have never experienced” and sees travel as an extension of the journey of life.
5. Matt Markivee, Audio Visual Editor

Matt has been working in the media industry since he was 15 years old. He began his career as a radio talk show intern in St. Louis, MO, and quickly learned that he was born to produce media. As an independent creator, Matt has developed media content for companies such as Ford Motor Company, Hasbro, Walgreens, and more. He has performed in production roles for NBCs American Ninja Warrior, and as a director for an NBC affiliate news station.
In 2017, Matt felt called to serve and he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a broadcast journalist. During his time serving, he was awarded the top media awards in his MAJCOM and was invited to attend the Department of Defense Visual Storyteller’s Convention in San Diego.
Since leaving the armed forces, Matt has continued his passions as the TV Operations Manager at a local TV station where he produces and procures content for the sole broadcast TV provider in his region.
Matt plans to continue producing media for both local and nationally syndicated media outlets, and he dreams of one day winning an Emmy award. He is currently a Journalism student at the University of Missouri.
Matt likes to spend his free time performing with local musical theater troupes, playing with his two young children, and enjoying the outdoors.
6. Dina Bodner, Paralegal, and Office Manager

Dina is a paralegal at the Current Affairs Times and performs all administrative tasks. She is an efficient administrative professional. Besides, being a paralegal, Dina is an artist from south Florida who spent her undergrad studying political theory and the intersectionality of pop culture and politics.
Dina is also a graduate student at New York University, where she is pursuing her master’s politics, public policy, and governance. Prior to this, she was a newsroom writer at the Boca Raton Tribune and a social media intern at the Mayor’s office in New York. It is at the Mayor’s office where Dina learned how to brainstorm and execute campaign ideas.
She is passionate about her artistic work outside of academics yet hopes to continue intertwining her artistic passions with her studies in politics.
