Republican Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is targeting the week of October 26 for Coney Barrett’s confirmation, mere days before the presidential election. Amy Coney Barrett was considered for a position on the Supreme Court earlier in Trump’s presidency, but that position went to Justice Brett Kavanagh.
