DC – U.S Capitol buildings have been locked down within the U.S Capitol complex as violent supporters of President Donald Trump get into a violent clash with the police. Individuals are alerted to take shelter due to security threats within the building.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, an ally of Trump confirmed to Fox News that shots were fired within the building. Allegedly, people are hurt with at least one woman visibly bleeding.
The staff has been asked to move inside offices, hide and lock external doors as well as windows.
There is firing visible in the House chamber with the police drawing guns. Windows have been smashed. Furthermore, tear gas was being used in the Capitol.
Repercussion
This violent altercation comes as thousands of Trump supporters and far-right protestors strongly contest the results of the presidential election.
At the moment, the protests continue in broken barriers. The judiciary and police enforcement has acknowledged escalating violence.
Entire D.C. National Guard will be activated in the next few hours. This extremely rapid military involvement came after the D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser requested help. A citywide curfew has been imposed in D.C.
