Baltimore, MD – James Dale Reed, a 42-year-old man now faces federal charges for threatening Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. In October, Reed was allegedly caught on a doorbell camera leaving a letter outside a home with Biden/Harris signs in the yard.
In the letter, Reed threatens to kidnap, assault and execute Biden and Harris. United States Attorney for the District of Maryland, Rober K. Hur in a press statement said, “We take these types of threats extremely seriously. Such threats to commit violence are illegal and have no place in our democracy, and we will hold accountable those who make them.”
Reed, in custody, has denied all allegations. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison.
