On August 25th, New York City Mayor Eric Adams awarded the Current Affairs Times a certificate of recognition for three years of outstanding work in the legal and media sector.
The certificate recognizes the firm “For its contributions to our media and legal sectors…and its commitment to fostering positive change.”
Current Affairs Times founder and Chief Counsel Afia Sengupta stated, “The award is a great honor. It serves as a reminder for our team to work harder as we continue fighting for underserved communities and the people of NY who need help in their fight for justice.”
The Current Affairs Times is a non-profit legal and media organization founded three years ago. Since then, their legal experts have worked on many pro bono cases. These cases range from domestic violence to wrongful incarceration to advocating for mental health treatment for inmates.
On the media front, the Current Affarst Times continues to produce investigative pieces, podcasts, and opinion editorials. Their content focuses on elections, legal analysis, and the exploration of abuses of power.
