Brussels, Belgium – The European Court annulled the European Commission’s decision that Ireland owed back tax money. The European Commission did not use proper legal standards to demonstrate Ireland’s preferential treatment towards Apple. Ireland and Apple both supported the decision; the country reasserted that it did not give an advantage to Apple while Apple claimed it did not violate any Irish Tax laws.
